TOPIC – Celebrating the 245th anniversary of Vilnius University's Faculty of Medicine: a look at the origins of scientific development

Dalius Jatužis (MD, Ph.D.) is a full-time Professor of Neurology, Head of Clinic of Neurology and Neurosurgery and Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University, Lithuania. His primary research interests involve cerebrovascular disease, stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment, cerebrovascular ultrasound. Practical clinical activity of prof. D. Jatuzis is closely related with the implementation of contemporary principles of acute stroke management and prevention, regular updates of national stroke guidelines, reorganization of national stroke care network and breakthrough of modern reperfusion stroke therapies in Lithuania, treatment of migraine, acute and chronic pain. In 2021 he received the Nordic Stroke Award. Dalius Jatužis is a President of the Lithuanian Association of Neurologists, Fellow of European Stroke Organisation (FESO), Principal investigator of numerous clinical trials, reviewer in number of international scientific journals, executive editor of national scietific journal „Neurologijos seminarai“ (Seminars in Neurology). He is co-author of 10 neurology textbooks in Lithuanian language. In 2025, he was elected chairman of the National Health Council. D. Jatužis has given more than 100 scietific oral and poster presentations and invited lectures at national and international conferences.
