We are pleased to announce the upcoming biannual 7th International Conference “Evolutionary Medicine: Perspectives on Human Development, and Health Consequences in a Changing Environment” (July 7-10th, 2026, Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania).
This time we will focus on auxology, issues of growth and maturation, health programming during growth, how characteristics of early and other phases of growth and development, and biopsychosocial factors are related to health at all stages of ontogenesis, in order to better understand the connections between growth, life history, and health trajectories.
This focus of this 7th Evolutionary Medicine Conference has deep roots – together we want to commemorate the 220th anniversary of the first auxological works at Vilnius University. In 1805, the “Dziennik Wileński” (Vilnius Daily) published the first article on child development and physical education, authored by Andrzej Sniadecki. (To learn more about Jędrzej Śniadecki and his contribution to auxology, click here.)
We kindly invite PhD students and other researchers from various fields of science (not only medicine and health or natural sciences, but also social, technological sciences and even humanities), as well as undergraduate students, to participate in this interdisciplinary scientific event and share research, also develop scientific communication and cooperation in solving biological, medical and other health-related problems.
This scientific event will be organized in a direct, contact manner, with live participation. In the case of an oral presentation, only live participation will be possible. Virtual participation will be possible only in case of choosing e-Poster presentation or participation without presentation (then it will be possible to passively listen to other presentations).
We wish all participants active scientific discussions and fruitful interdisciplinary cooperation. We hope to meet You at Vilnius University (Vilnius, Lithuania) in July, 2026.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee,
Prof. Dalius Jatužis
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University
Prof. Janina Tutkuviene
